Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis discusses the principle and possibility of using hydrogen cogeneration units in family houses.
The first part presents the principle of combined heat and electricity production, types of cogeneration units, the principle of hydrogen technologies and their application in cogeneration together with their examples available on the market and their current occurrence in different parts of the world. This is followed by an analysis of energy balance of a real family house, for whose energy needs a cogeneration system based on hydrogen technology is designed.
In the last part the economic advantage of the designed hydrogen cogeneration system is discussed compared to the actual state and other possible systems ensuring at least partial energy independence of the building.
