Možnosti využití a úpravy podzemních vod z vrtu NP-911 ve městě Karviná

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis deals with the possibilities of using groundwater from the NP 911 borehole in the Karviná area, where deep mining of hard coal has an impact. This thesis presents the geological situation and hydrogeological characteristics of the detrital aquifer in the Baden basal clastics collector, in which an aquifer of highly mineralized fossil seawater is located. Based on field sampling and laboratory analyses, it was proven that the groundwater has a high mineralization and chemical composition of the Na–Cl type. A high content of dissolved substances and concentrations of some organic and radiological parameters were found, exceeding the legal limits for drinking water and balneological use. However, some above-limit indicators are not related to contamination, but rather represent the natural process of groundwater formation in the studied locality. The thesis also deals with the possibilities of using such water. Although the water cannot be used as a source of drinking or even medicinal water due to the high cost of treating it for these purposes, its chemical composition could allow its use in a balneopark, where active walking in water is used as part of hydrotherapy procedures. However, it is necessary to keep in mind the presence of some substances that reduce the quality of this groundwater, including an increased level of radioactivity.
