Návrh školního zeměpisného atlasu pro I. stupeň základních škol

Abstract

The diploma thesis focuses on the design and concept of a school atlas for primary school pupils (grades 1-5) in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the development of the atlases and analyzes the current market of school cartographic tools and compares the Czech approach with modern international trends, particularly in Slovakia and Japan. The work emphasizes the application of development psychology and gamification elements to enhance children´s map literacy. The practical output consists of an original design for the atlas structure and the creation of specific thematic maps (Regions of the Czech Republic, Hydrology, Infrastructure and a Blank Map). The didactic effectiveness of the proposed solution was verified through practical testing in a primary school setting. The results confirm that the chosen graphic and pedagogical approach significantly contribute to effective geography education.
