Abstract

The thesis deals with the suitability of using Fomitopsis pinicola as possible biosorbent for elimination of hexavalent chromium from water solution and study of the conditions which influence the process of biosorption. In the work there are described methodology of granularity and thermal treatment of sample of biosorbent, including their chemical activation. To activate the binding sites of cell wall of Fomitopsis pinicola was used solution of hydrochloric acid at a concentration 0,1 mol/l, 1 mol/l and 2 mol/l. In terms of blank determination was used instead of activating reagent distilled water. The greatest sorption efficiency was achieved when treatment grain of sorbent was on fraction 4-5 mm and with chemical activation of hydrochloric acid 2 mol/l for 15 min. Sorbents suitability was approved by determination of its adsorption capacity in depending on the pH, temperature, kinetic speed and concentration of biosorbent. Samples were analyzed by the spectrophotometric determination of hexavalent chromium with 1,5–diphenylcarbazid. For interpret the results were used mathematic model of Langmuir´s and Freundlich´s adsorption isotherm.
