Abstract

Injection of pulverized coal in blast furnaces tuyeres appears as the most promising technological innovation. Abroad, the technology is used in the most modern blast furnaces and enables the replacement up to one third of the consumption of metallurgical coke. The basis is the question is how high the amount of injected pulverized coal effects on the course of the operation, and what the final effect of this substitution of coke for blast furnace alternative fuel. The base of variant calculations is the design of a model of dynamic equilibrium counter in the blast furnace based on the porosity of the coke layer in the shaft furnace. The model is applied also influence of residence time of coke in the plastic zone. In the present work is designed and developed an algorithm for calculating the model, including specific data for the calculation of the current Czech blast furnaces. The results of the model calculations can be used for basic orientation in terms of the extent of compensation coke coal.
