Abstract

This thesis is focused on the description of a proposal and realisation of a set of four basic simulated measurement instruments, which are a necessary part of most measurement laboratories. This set of instruments consists of a virtual oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter and wattmeter. Each of these virtual instruments is created in National Instruments' LabVIEW development environment and can work in a simulation mode (without a measuring card) or a real mode. Data are digitalized in a real time by one of two measuring cards NI PCI-6221 and NI USB-6212, on which the applications were tested. NI USB-6212 is a portable measuring card with an USB interface. NI PCI-6221 is a portable measuring card with a PCI interface, which is inserted directly into the PC. Both of the measuring cards are produced by National Instruments. They are available in laboratory NK426, where they were also tested.
