Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of torsional stresses of elements, especially the warping torsion, which is especially necessary to respect in open thin-walled cross-sections. The analysis of the selected elements has been carried out by different methods that can be used to approach the solution. The analysis was approached not only by an analytical approach, but also by using selected numerical methods with static programs. Two sets of analyses are included in this work, the first analysis was applied to a conventional hot rolled IPE 300 profile, then the analysis procedures were applied to a cold formed profile composed of two C sections.
