Abstract
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to simulate the hot rolling and cooling of microalloyed steel strips in laboratory conditions. The chemical composition was 0.075 C – 1.26 Mn – 0.44 Si – 0.032 Nb – 0.047 Ti (wt.%). The rolling and cooling method has been chosen to allow the investigation of various effects on the final microstructure of rolled strips and hence on mechanical properties. Simulation of rolling and cooling was carried out on the Tandem mill at laboratory at VŠB-TU Ostrava. To simulate the cooling, three modes were selected, following the six-passes rolling of the stripes. The first mode consisted of free cooling of the rolled strip freely in the air. The second mode consisted of intense cooling with water showers, followed by cooling by air. The third mode consisted of intense cooling with water showers, followed by slow cooling in the furnace (simulation of cooling of coiled strip). Subsequently, the influence of the cooling method on the resulting microstructure of the samples was evaluated. Tensile test was also performed and a chart and table of results for all samples were created.
