Abstract

The main goal of the PhD dissertation was carrying out an analysis of the underground heat storage and its later usage on the basis of experiences obtained during operation of the first Czech borehole thermal energy storage built in the premises of the Green Gas DPB, a.s. Apart from the descriptions of the sources and mechanisms of underground heat transfer, in the theoretical part of the dissertation the state of art of the construction and operation of the underground heat storages was presented. Furthermore, the construction and operation results of the underground storage Green Gas DPB, a.s. were described. The analysis of the obtained results enabled verification of the influence of the geological, hydrogeological and climate conditions of the underground heat storage location, as well as its operational parameters, on the efficiency of the underground heat storage process. Part of the dissertation was devoted to the development of the project of optimisation of the construction and the operation of the Green Gas DPB, a.s. storage in order to increase its efficiency. The PhD dissertation was concluded with the comparison of the Czech experiences with the Danish ones, gained during the construction and operation of the underground heat storage created in the Brædstrup city.
