Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to analyze the system of training and development of employees utilized by a company which main field of business is the outsourcing of IT services and to follow up with recommendations how to potentially improve the system. The theoretical part of the thesis contains basic knowledge drawn from the relevant technical literature and the related practical part focuses on specific information about the training and development of the workforce, the courses which the company offers, and the requirements for the open positions and the possible carrier advancement.
The first chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to definition of the key concepts which are made use of in the rest of the thesis. The nature and the objectives of the training and development are briefly characterized in the thesis. The possible factors influencing the employees’ behavior and problems that might occur during training and development are also described. The next part shows the modern trends associated with the development of the information and communication technologies. In the practical part of the thesis the theoretical foundations are applied to the actual situations from the selected company. The practical part is also divided into several chapters, in which the company and its training system are introduced and the individual courses offered by the company as part of its training and development programme are listed. The training programme is tailored to the needs of each position in the company. In the final part there are recommendations of how to possibly improve the company’s training and development system.
