Abstract
Waste water treatment brings the necessity to solve waste products created in individual technological processes. One of these products is sewage sludge, whose production is significant in terms of volume. The ideal solution for disposal of sewage sludge is their utilization while reducing their volume. These aspects more or less satisfy the methods of thermic processing of sludge from sewage treatment plants, which this thesis deals with. It summarizes not only the methods of treatment of sewage sludge and their development, but also the specific results of the properties of tested samples of sewage sludge with the assumption of possible energy use. To assess the properties of the sewage sludge, the sludge dry matter, ash content and combustion heat were determined in the samples. A selected sample of sewage sludge was also subjected to a pyrolysis test.
