Možnosti prevence potenciálních krizí ve vybraném podniku

Abstract

The aim of thesis is identifying possibilities of preventing potential crisis in selected enterprise. Security agency MINOS-IMS, s.r.o. was chosen for application of this thesis. First part consists of theoretical fundementals of crisis management including methods of performance and business environment evaluation. Next chapter contains company characteristic where its organization structure, history and provided services are described. In practical part the enterprise environment is evaluated using PEST analysis followed by competition environment assessment by Porter’s five forces analysis and finally by financial analysis. Analysis of profitability, liquidity, activity and debt ratios were evaluated when calculating financial ratios. Company economic development is assessed based on results achieved in last four years (2008 to 2011) of business. Gathered information is used in SWOT analysis defining all strengths and weaknesses of enterprise including its opportunities and threats. Top three severe crisis areas are selected and crisis scenario and contingency plan are created for each of them. There is also a suggestion included of proper strategy how to avoid threats in advance. Ending of the thesis contains several suggestions for improving current business situation and for its competitiveness increase.
