Abstract

This bachelor thesis is devoted to development and future of European common currency. The teoretical part is illustrated by history of monetary integration in Europe since its begining, to present situation of Economic and monetary union. Next section discusses the importance and status of the Euro in global economy and international monetary system. In analytical part are analysed strehghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Euro area and there are determined possible scenarios of future development of Euro area.
