Abstract

The aim of this thesis is the description of the electrical discharge activity’s behaviour in the air and its practical verification. First part of this paper will be focused at the theoretical description of the electrical discharge in the air. Specifically, the principle of the discharge creation will be described along with characteristic of individual discharges. The conclusion of this part will be an explanation of the pressure dependence to the landing distance between the electrodes in the air (i.e. Paschen’s curve) Second part will be dedicated to itself measuring of the Paschen’s curve. A plot of the calculated and measured values will be presented and in the conclusion those results will be compared and evaluated.
