Abstract

The work focuses on the creation of a cycling map in the border area of ​​the Upper Silesian Basin. In this area there are former industrial monuments, mines and mining works, but also museums and natural monuments. These have great tourist potential and so the V4 project was created. It is funded by the Visegrad Fund, which aims to introduce these sites to tourists. The key point of this project is also the above-mentioned map. The work consists of two parts. The first of them describes the theoretical part of the issue. From cartography and mapping, through graphic design to publishing maps in an online environment. The second part is a practical example of how to achieve the desired goals. All the set goals were achieved in the work and so the result is a finished cycling map in A1 format. This also required the creation of a graphic design.In the last step, this map is published in the form of a web service on the Internet.
