Abstract

The presented thesis deals with an issue of storing and processing of spatial data obtained from traffic into a database structure with a support of spatial data types. The first phase outlines the present state of the matter on a worldwide basis. The next part introduces tools and subsidiary means which were needed for the thesis elaboration. Afterwards, the work flow leading to desired results (i.e., storing and processing of traffic data in a database with a support of spatial data types) is presented. During implementation, the Oracle database with the Spatial module was used. Subsequently, the processed data are statistically characterized. Finally, the discourse about the accomplishment of appointed goals is summarized and benefits and steps suitable for follow-up are presented.
