Abstract
The objective of this master’s thesis was to create a 3D model of a road body on road I/56 at km 67.9–68.1. Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) technology was used for this measurement. Based on the measurements and subsequent modeling, the accuracy of the laser scanners Leica RTC360 and Leica Nova MS60 was analyzed and compared. The measurement was carried out in March 2025 in the locality of Ostravice, in the Frýdek-Místek district, Moravian-Silesian Region, cadastral area Místek 634824. At that time, extensive reconstruction was taking place at the site due to the wear of the asphalt layers of the structure. For this reason, the thesis also introduces the field of transport and road engineering, as well as the road and motorway network within the Czech Republic. The introductory part of the thesis describes the basic information about TLS, including its advantages, disadvantages, and fundamental principles of operation. This is followed by an explanation of the principle of the spatial polar method and GNSS technology, which was used to georeference the 3D model into the reference system. The practical part then focuses on the measurement itself and subsequent data processing in the respective software, including the determination and comparison of the accuracy of the used laser scanners.
