Revitalizace obytné dělnické kolonie Pokrok, Petřvald

Abstract

The thesis deals with revitalisation of a former workers‘ colony called Pokrok in the town of Petřvald. Currently, the colony is uninhabited and has fallen into a state of dilapidation. The work itself aims at designing a garden city with public architecture as well as public space. It is necessary to harmonize the former area of the workers’ colony with the possibilities of new structures to meet the idea of a socially oriented environment, which results in both the reconstruction of the old settlements and the construction of new modern buildings. The design reflects the idea of a garden city with affordable housing for people from different walks of life. The objective is a design of an intergenerational centre which includes a nursery, a day-care centre and an apartment building offering new housing for the elderly.
