Abstract

This thesis deals with the multi-storey timber buildings. This thesis is to anylyze the current state laws and regulations according to which the proposed construction of wood-based in the Czech Republic and abroad, in order to compare restrictive limits for timber construction. Based on these findings to make its own recommendations to allow the to fire increase the height of wooden buildings in the Czech Republic. The introduction is given a basic description of wooden structures, followed by a basic description of the current practices applied in the design of these buildings in Europe with a detailed analysis of constraints and requirements in terms of building height for timber structures in the Czech Republic and Sweden. It is also shown in this work the current approach in designing multi-storey timber buildings in the U.S., Canada and New Zealand. In conclusion, the influence of the fire safety equipment and perform their own design commendations and measures to increase the height of fire in these buildings.
