Abstract

This bachelor's thesis deals with the uniqueness of Czech art nouveau glass, which is highly valued throughout Europe due to its high artistic and historical value. The thesis describes the raw materials for glass production and their properties. Furthermore, the work focuses on the history and development of glass in the world and in the country until the beginning of Art Nouveau. The larger part of the work is devoted to Art Nouveau, the characteristics of Art Nouveau, important glassworks and artistic glassmaking of this period. Presentations of art nouveau glass in the past and present are also described in the work. Next, a proposed tourist route is described, focusing on visiting important art nouveau museums, raw material deposits and glassworks.
