Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with composition, structure, corrosion and mechanical properties of selected ferritic steels. The theoretical part is focused on the description of stainless steel groups, it´s advantages and disadvantages. Further the theoretical part describes the main types of corrosion attacks and their mechanisms. Within the experimental (practical) part were performed standard corrosion testing and comparison of damage, tensile test before and after corrosion exposition. Steels of type Cr12, Cr17, CrAl14-4, CrAl22-5, (C5, CrNi18-9) were used and compared. The samples were submitted to salt spray test and corrosion electrochemical measurements. The practical part was completed with hardness test, macroscopic observation of degradation, metallographic evaluation and microanalyses.
