Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on methods used to determine drainage basin baseflow. Hydrologic balance equation is used in most hydrologic branches. In the first thesis part, the equation is discussed in details including description of all its components: precipitation, evapotranspiration, infiltration, ground-water discharge and basin baseflow. This part includes description and introduction to hydrologic cycle, period and function for hydrologic year in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. Next, the thesis discuses several methods used to determine basin baseflow in hydrology and hydrogeology. These methods are used predominantly by basin companies and ČHMÚ. There are several methods: methods of hydrological balance, Castany method, Kille method, hydrograph separation method, Eckhardt filter, current method, Kliner – Kněžek method, PPP method, Meyboom and Rorabaugh methods. Finally, the thesis provides several examples for some of the methods. Namely: Meyboom, Rorabauhg, Kille and Hydrograph separation.
