This thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of variants of the investment project for modernization of production and distribution of compressed air in parts of ironworks of ŽDB,a.s. In the theoretical part summarizes the findings in the field of investment decision. The greater part is devoted to the economic criteria for evaluation of the project. This is the issue of net present value, profitability index, etc. Also problem of business risk is mentioned. Since there are more possible options, so is explained in this part of the decision analysis. Another section is devoted to the presentation of the company, and ZDB from past to present. Investment projects are clearly described and the determination of capital expenditure on individual variants. The final section is devoted to the evaluation of alternatives according to predetermined criteria and recommendations of the best options for implementation.
