Abstract
Thermal power stations represent a set of devices, ranging in all technicals areas. Can be seen from the perspective of engeneering, in terms of power, but also a device for converting various forms of energy.Convetional thermal power stations have the largest share of electricity production both at home and in the world.
This thesis contains the principle of function of convetional power stations, description of the function of individual parts of blocks, dividing the usual types, principles of increasing efficiency, modern trends and conditions for the expansion of thermal power stations. Futhermore , this work includes the use of the distribution in Czech Republic and in the world and current legislation governing the conditions for operation and connection of power plants and transmission networks.
