Možnosti zpracování a využití odpadů obsahujících kamennou vlnu

Abstract

This master's thesis investigates the material recovery of waste high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and stone wool for the development of polymer composites. The objective was to evaluate the influence of recycled mineral fibers on the mechanical and structural characteristics of the resulting composite material. The experimental procedure involved thermal treatment of the fibers and discontinuous hot pressing. The findings demonstrated that an optimal filler content (2.5–5 wt. %) enhances stiffness and compressive strength, whereas higher concentrations result in reduced toughness. The developed composite serves as a sustainable alternative for manufacturing acoustic panels or landscaping elements, thereby supporting circular economy principles.
