Abstract
The role and character of purchasing was changed a lot in 20. centrury. In the past, the purchasing department secured orders for other departments with little significance on a firm’s performance. Today the purchase is a key activity in companies. The aim of diploma thesis is described and analyzed the process of strategic purchasing in PILANA Knives a.s. and proposed solution for its optimalization. The process will be described and illustrated with process maps.
