Abstract
This diploma work is focused on the central bank independence. There is presented the principles of the central bank independence, its division and its possibilities of evaluation with indices for measurement of de jure independence. There is evaluated and compared measures of independence of chosen central banks, which are Czech National Bank, National Bank of Slovakia, National Bank of Poland, Hungarian National Bank and German Bundesbank.
