Abstract

The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes general information about caprolactame and trichlorethylene. Next chapters are devoted to extraction and distillation processes as well as analytical methods used in this work. The focus of the experimental part is divided into two parts. The first part aims to verify the use of a mixed solvents as a substitute for the carcinogenic trichlorethylene used in the extraction of crude caprolactam as an extraction agent in the first extraction stage. This part is accompanied by a computational part, aimed at determining the equilibrium stages for the system of partially miscible solvents in countercurrent extraction. The second part is focused on further possibilities of refining crude caprolactam, without caprolactam extraction. The processes of batch distillation, rectification and extraction of impurities with batch pre-treatment by processes such as alkalization or stripping of crude caprolactam are investigated.
