Abstract
The thesis deals with metal foams as a new and advanced material. In the theoretical part of the thesis the manufacturing routes of the metallic foams, their properties and areas of application are described. The selected production methods of the cellular aluminium materials are tested in the practical part of the diploma work. The produced specimens are used to verify the ability of cellular metallic materials to absorb the impact energy.
