Srovnání bankovních sektorů v České republice a Švýcarsku

Abstract

The thesis deals with comparison of the banking sector of the Czech Republic and Switzerland. The parameter of comparison is the development of the concentration of banking sectors, namely the concentration according the volume of bank assets, deposits of non-bank clients of banks and loans granted to non-banking clients of banks. We use the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) and the concentration ratio in the CR3 and CR5 variants to measure the degree and concentration level. In our work, we concluded that the development of concentration was different in the period under review, both in terms of the numbers of banks covered and the area under review (assets, deposits, loans).
