Abstract
This graduate work offers a comprehensive analysis of consistency and methods of hard coal trade in the global coal market. The work describes what countries are main consumers of hard coal and what are the key producers, how the price of coal is formed, what kinds of contracts are being currently used in the operation of coal market and at what markets the hard coal trade takes place. The principal objective of this graduate work is to explore how the hard coal price and the natural gas and oil prices link together and simultaneously find out the price of which of these substitutes has the strongest influence on the hard coal price formation.
