Abstract

Through the method of comparative analysis, this work is focused on the capacity of individual UN member countries to generate resources for the international peacekeeping operations; quantity of human a financial resources used in the individual operations; length of international oversight; peacekeeping expenses in comparison with levels of world GDP a military expenditure. Author contributes to the methodology of conducting comparisons in this area; he uses per capita, per km2 a per GDP indicators. In the light of relatively low annual costs of peacekeeping operations a statistically documented impact of conflicts in the world, author concludes that it pays off to suppress instability in the countries by conducting international peacekeeping operations.
