Abstract
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is poverty and social exclusion in EU policies. The aim is to introduce the reader to key terms such as poverty, social exclusion, and social welfare. Systemic tools for addressing these issues are then outlined. In the analytical part of the thesis, the goal is to determine how the European Union and the Czech Republic have fared in various areas (demographic, economic, and social welfare) during the 7year programming period from 2014 to 2020. First, individual EU countries are examined, followed by the EU average, which is compared with the Czech Republic.
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate poverty and social exclusion in EU policies. The main objective is complemented by two partial objectives. Partial objective 1 focuses on
"Evaluation of the success of EU country policies in the area of poverty and social exclusion based on selected socio-economic indicators from 2014 to 2020." Partial objective 2 is focused on
"Comparing the Czech Republic with the EU average and evaluating whether the Czech Republic performs above average in the area of poverty and social exclusion based on selected socio-economic indicators from 2014 to 2020."
The thesis concludes with the presentation of the research outputs. The main objective and partial objectives of the bachelor's thesis have been achieved.
