Problematika těžby Hélia-3 na Měsíci

Abstract

The topic of my bachelor thesis deals with the issue of helium-3 mining on the Moon. Helium-3 is considered an alternative fuel source for higher generation fusion reactors. Helium-3 provides a safer form of nuclear energy. The main advantages include its enormous energy and negligible radioactive waste. In the first part of the work I will explain the geological development of the Moon, its origin and composition of the lunar soil. In the second part I deal with commercial activities in space from the point of view of international law. In the third part I will explain the extraction of volatile substances from regolith. One of the main outputs of my work is the design of helium-3 mining using the lunar miner Mark III, including economic evaluation.
