Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the system of recruitment and selection of employees in a selected organization. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the basic concepts, personnel activities related to the collection and selection of employees, the individual methods of recruitment and selection of employees, the legal framework of the issue and the short description of the employment policy. The practical part is focused on VIPS gas Inc., its general characteristics and organizational structure. It will describe the current way of recruiting and selection of employees and updates of this process as part of the realization of personal activities during the author’s internship in the given company. The cost of newly recruited and selected employees will also be quantified. Unstructured interviews with organization staff were conducted within the organization, the deductive method evaluated the shortcomings of the current system of recruitment and selection of employees, and the qualitative method was used to evaluate the data in terms of enumeration of costs associated with the issue. The final part of the interpretation of the data is based on proposals and recommendations for the organization to improve the existing recruitment and selection system.
