Abstract

This bachelor thesis describes development and trends on the Czech beer market after the transformation of the Czech economy to a Free market economy. The first part includes history of brewing in the world and in the Czech Republic, brewing process and the assortment of beers as well. Secondly, this thesis mentioned the importance and global reputation of the Czech beer market for Czech economy. There is also mentioned our most widely known brewery – Pilsner Urquell. We also can not forget to describe the situation of the Czech beer market before the Velvet Revolution in November 1989. When describing the development of brewery on a Free market, attention is mainly paid to the largest producer of czech beer – Pilsner Urquell. The conclusion of this thesis describes the current state of the Czech beer market and prospects of czech beer for the furure.
