Abstract
In this diploma thesis a relation between bacterial leaching efficiency and pH, was studied. The essential purpose of this work was to determine the influence of pH and solid concentration on extraction of heavy metals from the mine water sludge sediment. The waste material used in the experiments was produced of Zlaté Hory mine water treatment plant. The results showed that the optimal leaching parameters were constant pH 1,80 and suspension concentration 5,6 % (w/v). After 42 days of bioleaching 85,42 % of iron, 98,73% of zinc, 96,44 % of copper and 93,17%, of lead were solubilized from the sludge through bioleaching in optimum conditions. Obtained results show that the bacterial leaching can be used as a suitable technology to reduce the amount of waste.
