Abstract
This bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part itself is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the lighting sources and their specifications, which are used on public communications. Next chapter analyses, driver’s reaction after coming across an obstacle and the time he is able to stop the vehicle. The last chapter is dedicated to the weather effects that complicates the safety on communications and what are the ways of improving pedestrian’s visibility in such effects. Practical part deals with evaluating the cars vertical luminence values using different lights (LED, Xenon, Halogen) that we measured on testing polygon in Ostrava. Afterwards we evaluated the brightness ratio so we could measure the visibility of pedestrians on communication. Those measuring took place on both the communication without public lighting and one with public lighting.
