Abstract
Goal for this diploma work was to explore possibilities of an acoustic measurements as a part of a product testing. For measurement were selected device which primary function is to generate acoustic signal. This device is loudspeaker system. So the acoustic measurements should be a primary characteristic of this device. Several parameters of the device that are best characteristics of loudspeaker system were measured. Frequency response, directional and impedance characteristic were measured. There were described difficulties of measuring acoustic transducers due to requirements for proper space to provide acoustic measurements and also due to subjective recepion of sound by human ear and different sound preferences of every listener.
During the realisation of measurements were required to solve absolutely unsuitable acoustic character of the room where was part of measurements made. Measurement was realised by virtual instrumentation in LABView development tool. Thanks to flexibility and modularity of this software we were able to provide measurements in very short time period, in order of miliseconds. That helped us to eliminate most of factors which were negative affecting measure results.
Loudspeaker system was in the end also measured in laboratory conditions of semi-echo free chamber. Results of this measurement were used as a material for comparsion with our results to evaluate accuracy of measurement that we have achieved.
