Abstract
The aim of this bachelor thesis is realisation analysis of the population trends in the European Union and comparison population development in the Czech republic with European Union countries during 2000 -2008. By searching selected values was found identical trends about natality, mortality and age structure in the EU and Czech republic too. Unfavorable evaluation of the age structure can be seen and typical is ageing population in monitored period in Czech republic and European Union countries. Sources of the data are internet sites of Eurostat and Czech statistical office.
