Abstract
The thesis is aimed for use of system dynamics as a tool for modeling of recycling processes in iron production. A part of the research is focused on possible use of alternative modeling tools as a support tools, namely life cycle assessment (LCA) and material flow analysis (MFA). Major part of the thesis is about description of data collection and creation of system dynamics model and its evaluation. The model is not strictly targeted on technological aspect, but also considered on economic and environmental aspects, with focus on possible external costs from pollution (externalities). Briquetting is considered as an alternative technology for agglomeration of metallurgy wastes in the model. Primary application way of products from this process is blast furnace. The practical part is aimed on system dynamics model developing with use of material flow analysis as a tool for data collection. In the end of practical part, six scenarios of different function set up of model are evaluated. For the evaluation was used regression analysis method. The conclusion of thesis is model which is focused, not even on technological aspects, but also on environmental and economical aspects of iron production. Based on results from six scenarios was confirmed hypothesis that briquetting is proper way of technology for agglomeration of metallurgy wastes. The main aim, verification of the system dynamics approach as a right modelling tool, was accomplished, since the approach was confirmed as a proper modelling tool.
