Vliv finanční a hospodářské krize na slovenský bankovní sektor

Abstract

The aim of this work is mostly to explain the origin of the global financial and economic crisis, to describe its evolution and analyze its effect and impact on the Slovak banking sector. The work is divided into three main parts. It contains practical graphs and supplementary tables. The first part is devoted to theories about financial crises. The part gives information about the types and resolution of crises. It provides a brief overview of historically known crises. Another section deals with the causes of mortgage crisis in the U.S., which caused the decline in the overall world economy. It describes the development and subsequent impacts of the crisis on worldwide financial and economic sector. The practical section briefly describes the banking sector in Slovakia. It analyzes, in detail , the development of the sector during the crisis period. It focuses on the impact of global crisis in the Slovak Republic and examines to what extent the banking sector crisis is affected. The result of the work is the recovery of resistance and stability of commercial banks in Slovakia in stressful times.
