Abstract
This thesis focuses on the hydrometallurgical processing of solid waste from galvanizing plants, in the form of waste sludge, and the recovery of selected non-ferrous metals from this waste. Today, the question of sludge recycling is of very high interest. As the demand for better galvanic plating surface treatment of products grows, so does the amount of waste material that needs to be further processed. The theoretical part of this thesis describes the production processes of the galvanizing plant and the waste materials that arise during these processes. By recycling them we obtain selected non-ferrous metals as a secondary raw material that can be further used. The practical part of the thesis is focused on Hydrometallurgical procedures for treatment of waste sludge from galvanizing plants by leaching. Laboratory conditions were determined for the recovery of selected non-ferrous metals, zinc and iron.
