Abstract
River water taken from the recipient is a key input ingredient in chemical plants for most manufacturing processes. It is contaminated with various waste materials during production processes. The wastewater from divisions is cleaned in plants, in particular acid waste water is neutralized at the neutralization station and water from other divisions is cleaned at biological wastewater treatment plants.
In the neutralization process, the acid wastewater is neutralized in two neutralization sections by neutralizing agents to form coagulum, while sediments occur at the point of the drain of neutralized waste water where the dominant component is gypsum. This work is devoted to analysis of sediments creation from many aspects. The ratio of acid waste water flowing to both sections, the degree of dilution with river water, the additional need of dilution water, and others are analyzed. In the final discussion, recommendations are made to reduce the amount of sediments.
