Abstract

This bachelor work provides an overview of the car wreck disposal management in the Czech Republic. First part of the work contains a list of applicable legislation on waste management that is related to car wreck disposal, including a new state ordinance. The amended Act on Waste and its implementing regulations brought new duties for car owners, for those who run car scrap yards, for car dealers and producers. All those new duties and changes are described in the next part of the work. The third part of the work describes how a scrap yard is operated. This part describes technical background of the yard, the evidence system of the wrecks, waste and technical facilities. Next part of the study describes duties and problems that municipalities have with abandoned car wrecks left by their owners on public areas. Finally, the work examines the current state of the management of car wrecks and provides some suggestions how to prevent the Czech Republic to become a „car cemetery"
