Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on precipitation reactions in martensitic age hardened steels, so called maraging steels. The theoretical part describes chemical compositions of martensitic age hardened steels, their heat treatment and mechanical properties. The experimental part deals with the Custom 465 maraging stainless steel. The attention is paid to precipitation reactions taking place during quality heat treatment. The effect of heat treatment parameters on mechanical properties is discussed. Furthermore, the influence of long-term annealing of the Custom 465 steel, at 475 °C on changes of mechanical properties is studied, inclusive precipitation evaluation after annealing at 475 °C for 3000 hours.
