Abstract
The thesis deals with the issue of setting and evaluating quality objectives in the academic environment, specifically at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of VŠB-TUO. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current approach to quality planning and management, to evaluate the effectiveness of the formulated objectives and to propose measures leading to their improvement. The theoretical part describes the basic principles of quality planning, methods of continuous improvement (PDCA, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) and tools such as SMART, KPI or benchmarking. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the objectives of the individual departments of the faculty in 2022-2024, their consistency with the quality policy and the strategic objectives of the faculty, and the evaluation of their measurability and relevance. Based on the identified gaps, a SWOT analysis was developed and specific recommendations for optimizing the goal-setting process were proposed. As a result, the paper proposes measures that can contribute to greater efficiency, strategic management and improvement of the quality culture at the faculty.
