Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify the strategic advantages of the personnel department in the organization Walmark, a.s. The theoretical part focuses on the basic concepts related to the strategic management, analysis of the organization’s environment, analysis of the resources and capabilities of the company and it presents trends in human resources. The practical part presents the chosen organization and assesses the strategic advantages of the personnel department. The outcome of this thesis which is based on the analyses is to identify the sources which represent sustained or temporary competitive advantage. At the end of the thesis there are proposals and recommendations which should lead to the removal of the identified deficiencies and to strengthen the competitive position of the personnel department.
