Abstract

This thesis deals with the evaluation of mammographic X-ray images of the mammary gland and creating processing algorithm thus obtained mammographic images. Nowadays breast radiology is the most effective tool for cancer prevention in the case of the mammary gland and also helped to reduce mortality of malignant breast cancer. Program for processing of mammographic images was created through the MATLAB graphical user interface GUI tools and aims to modify the picture to the visibility and localization of tumor deposits. To modify the images were created countless functions used for processing and image editing and the most important are the intensity transformations, image filtering, thresholding and edge detection. These modified images were submitted through the tools of system FOTOM, like measuring techniques, localization and evaluation of objects of interest. In conclusion there is a statistical evaluation of the treatment results for a selected group of patients in the Moravian-Silesian region.
