Příprava karbidu titanu (TiC) z odpadního uhlíku a jeho využití při syntéze fáze Ti₃AlC₂

Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the sustainable synthesis of titanium carbide (TiC) and its subsequent use for the preparation of MAX phase Ti3AlC2 using “waste” raw materials. The theoretical part summarizes the properties of transition metal carbides and MAX phases, their conventional and modern preparation methods and potential applications. The experimental part is divided into two steps: first, TiC was synthesized from waste carbon black and biochar prepared by carbonization of tea waste. The TiC prepared in this way was used together with recycled aluminum from food packaging for the synthesis of Ti3AlC2. XRD analysis was used to characterize the resulting samples. It was shown that the highest content of MAX phase was achieved at an annealing temperature of 1300 °C, when grinding for 120 minutes. This work emphasizes the possibility of using “waste” raw materials, which led to a reduction in the environmental burden during production.
